Things that affect SNR:

* Gain 3/3 appears to squeeze about 0.1 stops of DR
* Black sun protection: minor effect (disabling it squeezes less than 0.1 stops)
* reg 102 & 0x2000: undocumented, appears to introduce more noise, but changes the response curve too
* reg 110: minor effects
* reg 107: noticeable effects
